Café el-Ward

$50.00

@ Sfax. Tunisia, 2021.

Tunisia is the land of my ancestors and where my mum is resting 🕊 When I went back in April, the country was on lockdown due to a rise of covid-cases, and I spent most of my days at my maternal auntie’s house. My family and I filled up our time creatively. We transformed a corner of the house into a “coffee salon”, where the entire family would gather to enjoy a turkish coffee, infused with orange blossom. For the occasion we’d cut some fresh roses from the garden. Welcome to our coffee shop, “Café el-ward” (ward: rose in arabic).

Shot on 23mm digital APS-C.

Size 8.5’’ x 11’’. Frame not included.
